[continued from previous message]              Mizpah by their enemies, the Philistines. "[The Israelites] said to Samuel,       'Do not stop crying out to the Lord our God for us, that he may rescue us       from the hand of the Philistines' " (1 Samuel 7:8). In response, Samuel       sacrificed a lamb to God, crying out to Him on Israel's behalf,       "and the Lord answered him" (v. 9).              "While Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to       engage Israel in battle. But that day the Lord thundered with loud thunder       against the Philistines and threw them into such a panic that they were routed       before the Israelites" (v. 10).              Later, "Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it       Ebenezer, saying, 'Thus far the Lord has helped us' " (v. 12). Samuel placed       the stone to commemorate God helping His people. Ebenezer means "stone       of help."              Asking God for help is always proper. Let's call out to Him today.              Reflect & Pray              What help do you need from God? Why is it vital for you to call out to Him?              Please help me today, loving God. I need You!                     For further study, listen to The Mercy Prayer.               3) From The Billy Graham Evangelical Ministry Association              Words in Season - Scripture Memory Tools              Week 3 - Saved Now and Forever - Day 3 - Inseparable From God's Love              Romans 8:38-39              38 (Eph 1:21; 1Pe 3:22) For I am persuaded that neither death nor life,       neither angels nor principalities nor powers, neither things present       nor things to come,       39 (Ro 5:8) neither height nor depth, nor any other created thing,       shall be able to separate us from the love of God,       which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.              [38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor       principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,       [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to       separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.              Separation is a fact of human life. Relationships disintegrate,       children grow up, loved ones die, husbands and wives divorce,       friends changes and drift apart. We may resist change and separation,       but we must deal with them nevertheless.       Separation sometimes is a natural result of growth and development;       sometimes it is a violent, cataclysmic shaking of an individual's life.       2 lifelong friends go separate ways to college or into future careers;       a church splits over doctrinal differences; a wife finds out a hidden       secret in her husband's past.       But with God, there is no separation, no death, no breaking of vows,       no growing beyond the relationship. Nothing, says Paul, can separate       us from the love of God. A skeleton in my closet, once revealed, may       cost me the trust of those I thought were my friends. But God knows       all my past, all my sin; he forgives, and it cannot separate me from him.       My present personal struggles may cause trouble in my job and result in       the loss of that income, but God understands what I'm going through,       and even when I'm angry at him, he can take it without drawing away       or striking back. My present problems cannot separate me from the Lord.       And God knows, too, the plan he has established for my future. I cannot       walk away from him, grow beyond my need for him, or outrun him into       tomorrow.       She may separate me from my awareness of God's presence in my life,       but it cannot set me beyond his reach. There is no power that is greater       than God's love, and no place I can go that will separate me       from that love.              Application              a) Have I ever felt separated from the love of God? Under what circumstances?              b) How can today's verse free me from anxiety about the past,       the present or the future?              4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland              Philip 4:19              19 (Ro 2:4) But my God shall supply your every need according       to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.              19 But my God shall supply all your need according       to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.              5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:              God's Reconciling Peace              Ps 85:8-13              8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) I will hear what God the Lord will speak,       for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints,       but let them not turn again to folly.       9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) Surely His salvation is near to them who fear Him,       that glory may dwell in our land.       10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) Mercy and truth have met together;       righteousness and peace have kissed.       11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) Truth springs from the ground,       and righteousness looks down from the sky.       12 Yes, the Lord gives that which is good,       and our land shall yield its increase.       13 Righteousness shall go before Him       and prepare a way for His footsteps.              8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak:       For he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints:       But let them not turn again to folly.       9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him;       That glory may dwell in our land.       10 Mercy and truth are met together;       Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.       11 Truth shall spring out of the earth;       And righteousness shall look down from heaven.       12 Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good;       And our land shall yield her increase.       13 Righteousness shall go before him;       And shall set us in the way of his steps.              Remember God's promises when You pray              The Lord's prayer              Matthew 6:9-13              9 "Therefore pray in this manner:       Our Father who is in heaven,       hallowed be Your name.       10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;       Your will be done       on earth, as it is in heaven.       11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.       12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,       as we forgive our debtors.       13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,       but deliver us from evil.       For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."              9 After this manner therefore pray ye:       Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.       10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.       11 Give us this day our daily bread.       12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.       13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:       For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.              6) This come from Praying for Muslims in Canada 2015 (Is there a 2021 edition?)              Newfoundland & Labrador              Total population 527000       Muslim population (est.) 2065              As of Autumn 2014, St. John's does not have a local CNMM network. Pray with us       for God's people to come together in prayer       and cooperative efforts to reach Muslims with the Good News.              St. John's has one mosque and 2 more musallas , or prayer locations, which       may grow into mosques of their own. The mosque is called Masjid an Noor,       The Mosque of the Light, and mosque historical documents record a trip in 1986       to Saudi Arabia to raise funds for the land purchase and construction costs.       A small number of Muslim families had come prior to 1964, but moved on to       other places after a short time. After this date, a small community began       to remain and grow , reaching about 25 families in the 1980s. A number       of international students also join the community annually       ranging from 25 to 60.              In 2014 the mosque website reports the community is made up of some 200       families and many university students attending Memorial University. A       small number of native Newfoundlanders have also converted to the Islamic       faith, one saying of this religion in Newfoundland, "Islam is a growing face".              [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
