|    Re: Yes, The Gospel Is The Power Of God     |

XPost: alt.bible       From: usenet@christrose.news              Think of who is the audience. The audience for something like this would       supposedly be people who do not believe in God and the Bible. For such,       the Bible prescribes the gospel, not getting into arguments about       anthropology. In Acts 17, Paul spent no more than 30 seconds talking       about the God of creation before he transitioned to the gospel, which is       the power of God.               “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God        for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and        also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16, ESV)               “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of        Christ.” (Romans 10:17, ESV)               “Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to        you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you        are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to        you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of        first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our        sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that        he was raised on the third day in accordance with the        Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.”        (1 Corinthians 15:1–5, ESV)               “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a        gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be        accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone        is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received,        let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8–9, ESV)              That's the true, saving gospel. Men are saved by faith in Christ's       substitutionary atonement for their sins, not by their own physical       deaths, and not by losing an argument about anthropology. The fact you       do not proclaim the same gospel as the apostles did shows you are an       heretical fraud.              --       Have you heard the good news Christ died for our sins (†), and God       raised Him from the dead?              That Christ died for our sins shows we're sinners who deserve the death       penalty. That God raised Him from the dead shows Christ's death       satisfied God's righteous demands against our sin (Romans 3:25; 1 John       2:1-2). This means God can now remain just, while forgiving you of your       sins, and saving you from eternal damnation.              On the basis of Christ's death and resurrection for our sins, call on       the name of the Lord to save you: "For 'everyone who calls on the name       of the Lord will be saved'" (Romans 10:13, ESV).              https://christrose.news/salvation              To automatically receive daily Bible teaching updates with colorful       images and website formatting, subscribe to my feed in a client like       Thunderbird:              https://www.christrose.news/feeds/posts/default              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
