The Elitists play the long game.

IMHO: I think that's why they hate Trump so much.  Many of these Elitists have
been working for most of their lives to put this plan together.  Then Trump
threatens to tear it apart and set them back generations.

That wouldn't be a big problem but most of the Elitists never trained their
"successor" so they pushed their plan to hard, too fast and exposed themselves.
