I have no clue what other countries do.  I just know what Canada does.

The guy in the little booth as I drive across the border and the customs guy
at the airport both know what my criminal records are at entry.

My my HB2 visitor Visa, the one I didn't have to apply for can and will be
rejected at the port of entry if I have a criminal record... Including DUI and
simple things like that.

I have 2 passports.  I use my Canadian one when entering Canada and my US for
the rest of the world.
