I appreciate you explaining that to me. But I don't understand the point of
protecting the minority. Doesn't that equate to the opposite of democracy?

Aren't we stuck with everything the way it is though? We'd need a huge
majority to get rid of or to modify the filibuster.

That sounds perfect. That way the minority can have a little heads-up, but
then they'd ultimately have to face the music. (That way they can sell their
stocks first.)
