 Hello, Ken... I have one issue that needs to be considered: file names (at least in the Windows/DOS versions) are always upshifted. I'm not sure how this should be handled. Windows file names are ase-insensitive (unless you use the Posix API), but *nix file names are case-sensitive. Preserving the case of the file name would mean that "file1" and "File1" are two different files to a *nix system, but are the same file to a Windows system. At first blush I think that preserving the existing convention (always upshift) is the best way to keep things straight.
