with all the negative publicity I thought I'd put things
in perspective... There are many figgerent kinds of hackers and they fall
under 3 distincy categories:
1. hardware hackers
2. software hackers
3. social hackers
under 1. you have:
* design engineers (the ultimate hardware hacker),
* radio engineers and technicians (these are the guys that invented much of
the radio and wireless technology you see around you),
* electronic engineers and technicians (these folks are the hackers of
computers and computerize electronic devices),
* automotive hackers (some gang bangers and "shade tree mechanics" are thus
because they tend to do "creative work" ),
* networking specialists (including engineers)
* specialized thieves (B&E, burglary, espionage, etc)
under 2:
* software design engineers
* OS design engineers
* security consultants
* forensic specialists
* some of #1 crosses over here as well (tcp/ip, networking, etc)
* multimedia content authors (and some pirates),
* visual artists
* musicians
* authors
under 3:
* psychologists/psychiatrists
* comedians
* con artists
* telephone sales (I know its corny but think how it is they get you to buy
stuff)
* advertising executives/employees
* chef's (you think you'd pay for an expensive meal if it looked like crap?)
There are many others (in fact, I can't seem to think of them all). got any
to add to the list? changes to the list? more types of hackers? Sounds like
a fun project.
