Hmm... Could be because I've been an on-and-off reg here for a few
years. Or I might just want to waste your time and bandwidth. Who
   knows...

That's just the only comments I've made since returning to this group
a few months ago. Search for "author:auric__" in Google Groups. (The
group's unfortunately quite dead nowadays. Used to be pretty busy.)

My feelings about not paying for software can be summed up in two
words: "cheap bastards". If something is worth *using*, then it's
worth *paying for*. I'm a paying customer of several large and well-
known companies -- not because I can't get their software illegally
(I can, quite easily), but because their stuff is *worth using*.
(I've also donated to the FSF and a few other open-source projects
   for the same reason.)

As for recommending against doing something, you need to remember
that a lot of things that fall under the heading "hacking" are
*illegal* in many places. Email bombing can break a number of laws,
depending on where the sender, the receiver, and the email server are
located. (You're not private; if a law enforcement agency wanted to
know who you are, Supernews would fall over themselves handing out
your info. Ditto with your ISP.)

I do. I write programs. (Don't bother looking; they're published
under my real name, which is nothing resembling "Auric".)

Do you even know what a "hacker" is? Or "hacking"? I'll give you a
hint: it's not a person who circumvents authors' mechanisms for
ensuring payment, nor is it a person who harasses others, via email
or otherwise. I recommend you read this page:
   http://catb.org/jargon/html/H/hacker.html

   By the way... Don't top-post.
