Failing that, make       sure you have an up-to-date antivirus program with current defs. A       firewall (preferably a hardware fw, on a separate machine between you       and the rest of the world) is also important.              You can write malware in *pretty much* any language you choose. I've       seen examples in Pascal, C, various flavors of Visual Basic, and       Assembler. There are probably more languages at home on my biohazard       machine, but I haven't looked recently. If *I* were to write one, I'd       use asm. (*Knowing how* and *actually writing one* are two different       things. Releasing malware (virii, worms, trojans, etc.) into the wild,       especially something that the press notices, *will* land you in jail       if you are caught.)              Some languages would present certain difficulties to get around,       especially interpreted languages where the target(s) can read through       the source code and stands a chance of recognizing it as malware.       (There is a contest, similar to the IOCCC, where the goal is to write       code that, at first glance, is harmless, but when run is anywhere       from "wtf" to "disastrous". Sorry, I don't have a link.)              > auric! keep quiet or say something favourably reasonable.              "Abandon all sanity ye who enter here."              Most of what I write is fairly reasonable.              --       auric dot auric at gmail dot com       email sent to the above address is not treated as private       *****       I'm just a bastard, but at least I admit it.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
