   They're full of shit. Your email is *gone*. The best you can do is contact   
   AOL and ask *them* if there's a copy stored on their servers somewhere.   
      
   (Yes, it's *possible* that your email is still stored locally, but the   
   chances of that being true, especially after however long "long since" is, is   
   microscopic.)
