       I've got a bit of experience with shelters, homeless resources, and   
   homelessness, both from being homeless and from working as an 'intake   
   specialist' determining who was eligible for financial assistance and making   
   sure that they weren't double-dippers (hitting multiple agencies for the same   
   thing) or leechers.  There are many other funding sources, many of which are   
   private grants.  I've written the reports for them a few times myself.
