XPost: alt.business, alt.journalism.newspapers, alt.politics.democrats.d       XPost: alt.politics.democrats.house       From: reparations@naacp.org              SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A 2News investigation uncovers the       frightening reality when it comes to the number of dangerous       parolees Adult Probation and Parole (AP&P) has failed to       properly supervise and are now fugitives.              A whistleblower told 2News:              There’s violent gang members of every street gang and there’s       white supremacist gang members out on the street. There’s       violent sex offenders out on the street. There’s gang members       that the Department of Corrections doesn’t even have categorized       as gang members out on the street on parole. There’s the next       cop killer out there.”       Frustrated parole agents have risked their jobs to tell 2News       Investigative Reporter Wendy Halloran what’s really going on, as       well as former agents who left AP&P. They claim they lost their       police powers and were turned into social workers by supervisors       who more often than not require them to give the parolee another       chance, instead of writing a warrant and sending it to the Board       of Pardons and Parole in an effort to send them back to prison.              The whistleblower said:              I don’t want my name out there as that guy who let someone get       killed or get victimized.”       Monday, May 3 at 10 p.m. on KUTV 2News: What they want all       Utahns to know.              You will learn how one such fugitive allegedly killed a teenage       boy last June and hear from his uncle who wants accountability       for his nephew’s death.              You will hear from Adult Probation and Parole Division Director       Dan Blanchard as he responds to the criticisms.              The whistleblower said:              I’m absolutely worried about the public’s safety and law       enforcement especially because the law enforcement officers on       the street are the ones who come in contact with these guys, it       isn’t AP&P . When was the last time an AP&P agent got shot? You       know ,it just doesn’t happen. These guys are unpredictable and       look how easy they can get their hands on a gun. It’s not       working and that’s what I would tell the public, you should be       very concerned. Don’t leave your doors unlocked on your car.       Don’t leave your doors unlocked on your house because if your       car gets stolen it’s probably a probationer or a parolee who’s       behind it.”              https://kutv.com/news/2news-investigates/is-utah-keeping-you-in-       the-dark-about-violent-dangerous-parolees-theyve-lost-track-of                      --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
