competition exists in socialism, though it's a different kind than in
capitalism, and is not a universally accepted tenet of all socialist
thought. Some socialist models, like market socialism, incorporate
competition for efficiency, while others, particularly state-controlled
systems, have historically used "socialist competition" or emulation
between state enterprises and individuals to encourage higher production.
