   The elections in 2004 may well be the most important in our history. Our   
   most cherished freedoms and our dearest liberties are under assault by a far   
   right, ultra conservative effort to remake America into a theocratic regime.   
      
   The Bill of Rights is daily being shredded by a government that ignores the   
   Constitution and imposes almost martial law upon us. The rights of   
   minorities, of women are being taken away one by one.   
      
   America is being sold to the highest corporate bidder as our air and water   
   is poisoned without regard to the dire consequences.   
      
   America, long known as a nation that loves peace is making war, without   
   justification and need. Our international reputation has been tarnished by   
   the actions of those without regard for international law.   
      
   In the richest nation on earth we have no national health care system in   
   place, poverty is still rampant and the destruction of our welfare system is   
   underway.   
      
   The so-called No Child Left Behind is making our education system into a   
   joke. Teachers are underpaid, physical plants are in state of deterioration,   
   and class sizes are far too large. An intense effort is underway to ban the   
   teaching of evolution in our schools and put in place a right wing,   
   theocratic program of indoctrination.   
      
   The forces of organized labor are everywhere under assault. The economy is   
   in shambles and thousands of jobs are being lost daily in the economic   
   madness.   
      
   Now, the ultra conservative, right wing is raising hundreds of millions of   
   dollars to insure they win the crucial elections Their goal is to keep the   
   presidency and the US House and win total, 60 vote control, of the US Senate   
   so that they can remake the US Supreme Court. They have hundreds of millions   
   of dollars to do that.
