wrong, in the 30's the whole country was starving. There was a dry
spell in 1932 and 1933 and it was called "The famine
holocaust in the Ukrain". Stalin worsened it by demanding a 44%
increase in grain exports from Ukrain which basically was the bread
basket of the USSR. Low yields were a product of nature and
capitalism and socialism could not have helped it but communism made
it worse when Stalin made unreasonable demands on the Ukrainian
farmers.
Similar low yields were also felt in eastern Europe
