XPost: alt.activism, alt.activism.children, alt.activism.peacefire       XPost: alt.fan.noam-chomsky       From: daeron@some.net               Why did the Kanimbla crew need to die ?               Why do Australian or anyone else have to risk theirlives just because       Indonesia wants to keep its military for killing Christians in West Papua ?               Indonesia has both the man & air power to completely service the       Aceh & Nias disasters if it wanted to. If it were concerned about       these people it could also transfer say 15,000 troops from eastern duties       to the west were their aid is needed to aid humanitarian duties.        - that is if SBY is honest about wanting to help his people.               In 2000 their Airforce had 24 & Navy had 10 Super Puma heavy helicopters        Their Navy had 10 & Army 17 high reliability NBO-105 helicopters        Their Airforce 1 & Navy 4 & Army 28 general/high capacity NBELL-412 heli        Both the NBO-105 & the NBELL-412 helicopters are specifically marketed for       Medical Support/Ambulance Missions as well as other duties.               These are just the helicopters they manufacture themselves        and can not claim were unavailable;        also both fix-wing aircraft that they manufacture,        the CN235 and the cargo style NC-212 are meant to be designed for short       runways       and un-prepared airfields.               During the 3-month period after the Aceh tsunami,        why were these aircraft including the 58 helicopters suitable for medial &       emergency services not moved to the island of Sumatra where they would have       been ready for instant response to Nias ?               Why did the Kanimbla have to turn back at all ?        Indonesia should have had all of its own air services in the area by this       time.               Why did Australia have to build a hospital in Bali after the Bali bombing ?        In just one logging operation of West Papuan forests the TNI military earns       over $88million per year; across the nation the TNI must make many billions per       year.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
