    JWs may (on occasion) help someone not a JW but the WTS has no charitable   
   arm to help anyone.  Most churches do.  When I was doing volunteer work at a   
   large city hospital I was told JWs don't do this because it's a temporary   
   fix.  I got the lecture on how only Jehovah can "fix" the problems of the   
   world,... and bla. bla....  I was also counseled against trying to get other   
   JWs to volunteer there an at an animal shelter in Jamaica Queens.  The JWs   
   are only allowed to volunteer for activities that *benefit* the WTS/JWs/GB   
   such as building new KHs.
