   Once again, Katrina is a news-attracting event.  The JWs are not

   We were discussing "Handing out  sandwiches and hot coffee/tea   
   to the homeless at night ...", not Katrina.  Yes, churches receive   
   governemnt funding, and their members tax breaks, for this work.

   I had not heard abut this, but your desciption makes it different from   
   going door-to-door anyhow.  I would not expect my employer to pay   
   for collision damage to my car driving to and from work.
