XPost: alt.fan.rush-limbaugh, alt.politics.democrats, alt.anarchism.communist       XPost: alt.atheism       From: katt@gmail.com              Trump obediently sucked Mark Carney's cock at the WEF. He's so addled       that he forgets what he said 5 minutes later.              Trump's a Communist and an old fool.                     The Trump administration announced a 10% stake in Intel on Friday, in a       unique flex of power to apply federal control over a private business.       According to a joint statement announcing the agreement, it amounts to an       $8.9 billion investment in common stock, while U.S. officials will not seek       direct representation on the technology’s board. However, they will vote on       matters requiring shareholder approval with “limited exceptions.”                     Social media critics were quick to label the partnership as an example of       “communism.”              “Lmao communism came in the form of a MAGA hat,” one user wrote on X.              The Lincoln Square, a joint endeavor with The Lincoln Project, said that       “If it looks like communism and sounds like communism, it’s communism.”              “If Obama or Biden did this, the GOP/Fox screams of socialism would be       louder than Spinal Tap’s up-to-11 amps,” writer Michael Freeman posted.              Former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan joked, “‘The Democrats are COMMUNISTS!’”              “Breaking: Republican president to continue seizing the means of       production,” the “Republican Accountability” account wrote.              Rep. Sean Casten (D-Ill.) also weighed in: “Last term - just a year ago! -       a lot of my Republican colleagues were making a lot of noise about the       pernicious influence of foreign ‘state owned enterprises’. And here we are       now.”                            Trump defended the new acquisition on Monday, writing that around $11       billion “goes to the USA.”              “Why are ‘stupid’ people unhappy with that?” Trump wrote on his Truth       Social platform. " I will make deals like that for our Country all day       long."              Hassett also shielded the new deal from criticism during an appearance on       CNBC’s “Squawk Box” an hour earlier.              When asked by co-anchor Andrew Ross Sorkin if the United States should       expect the federal government to be taking more equity stakes in businesses       around the country, Hassett responded: “It’s possible, yeah. That’s       absolutely right.”              “In the past, the federal government’s been giving money away, lickety-       split, to companies, and the taxpayers have received nothing in return,”       Hassett continued.              Under the deal, the stake will be paid through $5.7 billion in grants       previously awarded to Intel under the 2022 U.S. CHIPS and Science Act. An       additional $3.2 billion will also be granted to the company as part of       Secure Enclave, a national security initiative.       Trump announced the deal on social media, in which he praised the company’s       CEO only two weeks after he called for his resignation.              “This is a great Deal for America and, also, a great Deal for INTEL,” Trump       wrote on Truth Social. “Building leading edge Semiconductors and Chips,       which is what INTEL does, is fundamental to the future of our Nation.”              The move comes as chipmakers Nvidia and AMD also agreed to pay the       government 15% of their revenue share on some sales to China in exchange       for securing export licenses. Intel, which is California-based, has       struggled to keep up with its rivals, with its shares down around 60% after       highs during the pandemic.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
