Astrology is something I've never been able to have confidence in. I don't
want to create bad feelings between us by disputing with you about it, but
   would
like to question it with you if you don't feel offended by it. The biggest
question for me is how it COULD work. And to me the way it could work is that
it's a seasonal sort of thing, and would have to do with the influence of the
sun on the Earth when the Earth is in various positions relative to the sun as
we orbit around it. I can't believe that the influence of any constellations
would be enough to have any significant influence on anything on this planet,
and probably couldn't be detected by any equipment humans have been able to
develop. But the influence of the sun on the Earth would be a totally different
consideration, like the fact that it's what keeps us from taking off in a
journey into space far away from the sun itself. So it would be an influence on
Earth by the sun's gravity when we're in different positions relative to the
sun, with nothing really to do with constellations that are too far away to
   have
any influence. My reason for having doubts that even that would be significant
enough to give significance to astrology is the influence of the moon's
   gravity,
and the possibility that it has more influence than the sun since it causes
tides, possibly having enough influence to make the sun's influece pretty much
insignificant in regards to how humans develop. But then the combination of the
influence of both of them could be the reason there's a pattern that people
   were
able to recognise. And it's not that the constellations themselves have any
influence, but how they appear at different points in the Earth's travel around
the sun taught people to recognise that there IS a pattern. Unless the ever all
NOing atheists are right and there is no pattern, and no influence by sun or
moon on the development of humans... I haven't read many of their posts about
this, but I am wondering if they've brought out the tired old lie that there's
"no evidence" for it or not. Have they?
