XPost: rec.travel.air, alt.travel       From: gld_nospam@nospam.ripco.com              If US leaves and PIT becomes a non-hub, it will likely       be like PDX (Portland, Oregon). Beautiful facility,       a great area to be, but underserved if you need to       fly east beyond Phoenix, Denver, SLC, Calgary ...       it's expensive to get a direct flight to O'Hare (3-4       on UA, 1-2 on AA daily) if you book less than       three weeks to a month in advance. For PIT,       that might be in the other direction - west.              St. Louis is undergoing that wrenching transition       right now, due to AA.              I'm not saying to cave in to US's blackmail but       if another carrier doesn't come in with lots of       flights, life will become harder. )-;              gld                     John S wrote:              >None wrote:       >       >       >       >>Pitt is a shithole       >>       >>       >       >PIT is actually a very efficient modern airport, and enjoyable to those       >who fly there, or fly through there.
