   I wouldn't look that negatively at the American public. It's the American   
   press that is the big problem. Never forget the BBC interview with Rumsfeld   
   shortly before the invasion. It tells more than volumes upon volumes of   
   academic analysis in my opinion about the lack of guts of the US press. The   
   press too has got under the demonic spell of nationalism. What one might   
   hope (and depending on religion) pray might happen is that this spell of the   
   devil might become weakened! This O'Neal story is so BIG that the press   
   cannot ignore it. And by reporting his views somehow get into the unusual   
   habit of making deep critical reporting. The American public by and large is   
   just like sheep without a Shepard.
