   I agree somewhat with this- that is, I think Israel should certainly   
   withdraw from all the occupied territories (even the Golan, albeit under   
   negotiation with Syria- Syria will have to give something in return in   
   terms of security etc.), but I think the bloodshed will continue for a   
   _long_ while. Countries like Syria and Iran have too much to gain from   
   ongoing strife in that area- hence why they support many of the   
   terrorist groups there.   
      
   That is not the same as dissolving the state of Israel, which is what   
   Sjoerd's 'solution' is tantamount to. I find it quite a startling   
   proposal, but luckily, it's way out of line with even left of centre   
   thinking- which I broadly tend to adhere to.
