XPost: alt.flame.airlines, alt.politics.immigration, alt.airline       XPost: rec.travel.air, alt.travel.uk.air       From: drmayr@btinternet.com              Today's newspaper says that there are nine detainees at Guantanamo Bay on       whose behalf habeus corpus petitions are being lodged in Washington courts.       Those are 2 British, 3 French, a German Turk, a Jordanian Palestinian       refugee an Iraqui refugee and a Canadian citizen. The actions are       challenging the lagality of their detantion demanding that the US Government       explain, in court, why the men are being held. Of the nearly 600 detainees       only 4 have had access to lawyers.              Not a shining example of democracy at work.                     Doug                                   "Not the Karl Orff" |
