   One of the main reasons anti-American sentiment around the world is as   
   trivial and limited as it is, is because it's plain to outside observers   
   that not every American is as venal and craven as the current   
   administration. Were it not for news coverage of the protests, of attendance   
   at Michael Moore's film, and so on, Americans would find themselves in a   
   much more unwelcoming world.
