From: hello@stabby.greedy.vicious              Helter Skelter (says a lot about his mentality)              and 'Fatal Vision'              re-reading "The Family", too, but I read that one about three times,       my copy is well-worn              both Manson books are great, but the Sanders book is more grounded in       a counter-culture and historical background              Right now, I need to re-read "Helter Skelter".              And stupid Bill, he apparently doesn't know I read "Helter Skelter" in       college.              I already read the damned thing. I'm just re-reading it.              I mean, what the fuck do these ignorant, uneducated cons THINK people do       at schools like Northwestern? Education isn't just about the syllabus,       if you're a college student that's worth anything, you educate yourselves.              We were born in the late sixties and early seventies and were ALL       passing the Helter Skelter book around and sharing our thoughts.              What the fuck do you cons THINK happens in college anyway?              So, you know, I got on the "phone" and first of all, I told him and       anyone else who was listening that the book is "old hat"....I think I       saw my mother reading it, too - in the seventies. she was the one who       got me interested in the Manson case, because, you know, we were       harassed in the early seventies by those fake grubby 'hippies', they       followed us to a movie theater, for example, sat down behind us and made       a lot of noise and when my mom turned around to complain, they sniped,       "you want this FORK in your EYE?"              They said this in front of a couple of young kids at a movie theater.              this is what we grew up with. Stalking "hippies", threatening us       verbally and following us.              So anyway, you know, I told them I'd already read the book. It's like,       late sixties history 101, essential reading for kids of my generation.       And I also got fed up and just got on the "hammer" and started reading       the god damned book to him, starting with chapter one. He got real       quiet then....              Come ON, you idiots....the Manson case is my "baby". My mom knew about       it, too. We ALL read the book and the "Family" book too, and discussed       it in college. I'm just refreshing my memory, going back through it all       to see what I missed the first time.              Like I said, I think I read "the Family" three times and am going       through it a fourth time and I'm reading "Helter Skelter" again.              Bought "Helter Skelter" on Amazon....ordered a whole slew of true crime       books from used dealers, and that one took FOREVER to arrive, but when       it did, I got a really nice copy.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
