|    laptops on 'planes ?    |

XPost: free.uk.airports.manchester, alt.airline, alt.flame.airlines       From: obligatoryspamtrap@gotchya.net              We're due to be flying longhaul, shortly, from Manchester (UK)       to Doha ( Qatar Airways ), then Doha to Manila ( Philippine Airlines ).              Because of the length of time flying, I was wondering if it was permissible       to take on board ( & use ? ) a lap-top computer ? We will be flying       cattle-class. I am not bothered about an internet connection ( probably       not even possible, aboard an aircraft ?) .... but, also, wondered (       providing       laptops ARE allowed on board ) if they could in any way be powered up       via an onboard connection. My laptop only has about 2 hours battery charge       , before it needs charging again. I asked at our local computer spares       store       & they didn't even know if there was any kind of power-lead/transformer,       for       laptops, that can be used on 'planes .... or if 'planes had any kind of       socket &       or universal power connection for laptops.              Any info GREATLY appreciated !              Cheers,               A NON-frequent flyer.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
