XPost: alt.politics.republicans, alt.politics.trump, alt.fan.rush-limbaugh       XPost: sac.politics, talk.politics.guns       From: yourdime@outlook.com              The United States, Great Britain, France, and other Western allies aligned       with the most prolific mass murderer in history, Joseph Stalin, to defeat       Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany in World War II. There are valid points of       disagreement with that choice, but most historians consider it a good one       because, right or wrong, at the time they considered Nazism and the other       Axis powers a greater existential threat to the world than communism and       the Soviet Union.              Were they correct? Let’s revisit that later, but for now, you just need to       understand that the Allies happily sided with one monster in order to       defeat another one, and the world writ large was OK with it.              Fast forward to today, and we face a greater existential threat than any       form of fascism ever was or ever will be: leftism. That’s a bold       contention, I know, but I believe it’s an accurate one. Leftism, at its       root, continually makes war on the God-ordained social order by employing       various tactics like feminism, gender ideology, class warfare,       egalitarianism, and many more to rip apart the traditional nuclear family,       the building block of all cohesive, safe societies. In doing so, it       destroys the social fabric that made Western civilization the greatest       mankind has ever built.              It’s also easily transferable across cultures and societies. Once leftism       gets its blue and pink dyed tentacles in, things begin to disintegrate       fast. Economic progress stagnates, inflation soars, infrastructure       crumbles, and people’s lives progressively get worse as the powers-that-be       obsess over woke BS. Anarcho-tyranny rules the day as emboldened criminals       prosper while law-abiding citizens are punished for attempting to protect       themselves and their property. Freedoms once taken for granted, like       speech and self-defense, are lost, never to return.              The end result of this path is, of course, full-on socialism and,       eventually, the ideology responsible for the most human suffering in all       of history - communism. And then the real killing starts, as we’ve seen       countless times over the past century and beyond. So yeah, leftism is a       threat greater than anything humans have ever faced, and it should       absolutely be opposed at every turn by anyone who values preserving some       form of free society for their children and grandchildren.              Thus, using the same logic the Allies used in World War II, any enemy of       leftism should be, at least tangentially, an ‘ally’ of ours. And just like       Great Britain wouldn’t have sent a sortie of planes past Germany to bomb       the Soviet Union, as evil as they were at the time, we shouldn’t ‘bomb’       our allies. In other words, don’t punch right.              Unfortunately, this is a tough concept for many on our side to understand.       James Lindsay, for example, has an entire gatekeeping grift going whereby       he labels people he disagrees with, particularly on foreign policy, as       “woke right.” This line of thinking has people like Tucker Carlson, for       example, lumped right in there with actual neo-Nazis, and people like Matt       Walsh are considered something akin to Nazi collaborators simply for       refusing to condemn them. (If you missed this entire brouhaha on X over       the past year or so, just know it’s been a whole thing.)              What I’m arguing for here is as big a tent as humanly possible. Sure,       we’ll have plenty of differences on plenty of key things, but if your goal       is to defeat the left, you generally will have a friend in me. And the       people who seek to divide the right by calling people who take       controversial positions they don’t like ‘woke’ are doing more harm than       good. Sure, let’s debate these issues, but let’s do it with grace and       humility and the recognition that, at the end of the day, we’re on the       same side.              I know what you’re thinking. Are there people we shouldn’t ally with or       even talk to? What about those actual neo-Nazis or KKK members (if they       really exist and aren’t just cosplaying Feds)? Well, the first thing to       realize here is that in many cases, these ARE plants meant to make the       right look bad. But no, not all. Sometimes, genuine people who mean well       get deceived. Sometimes the left calls so many good things ‘fascist’ that       good people just assume they might as well BE an actual fascist.              Even in these cases, you can associate with or refuse to associate with       whoever you like without actually punching right. You can express your       disagreement with certain tactics or beliefs without condemning the people       who hold them. If someone is an actual antisemite, for example, it is far       better to patiently address their concerns, as Jesus would have done,       instead of condemning and writing them off, as the Pharisees would have       done. Maybe their heart is in the right place and they just need some       guidance. If so, taking Jesus’s approach might just turn them into a far       more effective soldier for our side than they ever would have been       otherwise.              Circling back to that question about whether the Allies were right to       align with the Soviet Union during World War II, I would argue they       probably weren’t, that allowing the Nazis and the Communists to duke it       out in the East would have severely weakened and neutered both to the       degree that an Iron Curtain over Europe imposed by the fascists or the       commies would have never been possible. But who really knows, right? The       great irony is that the communists, once among our closest allies, were       always the greatest existential threat.              Draw the line where you want, but I believe you should draw it as loosely       as possible and be as charitable as possible to well-meaning people who       have some bad ideas but just want to fight the left. Why? It’s not just       the Christian thing to do, it’s also the best strategy. Because the battle       against the left, now more than ever, is a battle of good vs evil, of       sanity versus insanity, of order versus chaos, and we’re going to need all       the help we can get to have any shot at winning it.              When that fight is finally won, the hand-wringers, the gatekeepers, and       the ‘woke-right’ accusers can at least do their thing without causing       actual harm to the cause they profess.              https://townhall.com/columnists/scottmorefield/2025/10/27/stop-punching-       right-n2665493              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
