|    Re: The alt.anagrams FAQ    |

From: dfreemans@live.com              I should also add here that, if it were up to me,       there would be several improvements to the group, than       how it had been before I started, and how it had been       after I started:              1. In the FAQ section "Group convention", subsection 3.1,       it should be clearly stated that the first step for a Newbie       is for them to add a reply-post to the FAQ with their name       IF they want members of the group to look for and post       anagrams of that name, and as to whether they want both       flattering anagrams and insulting anagrams or just the       one or the other, AND then if there is no such reply-post       added to the FAQ and yet some new person appears at       the group, no group member should ever post an insulting       anagram of that new person's name unless that new person       has personally insulted that group member first, and no       group member should ever post any anagram of that new       person's name unless a request or assent is made at some       point by that new person.              Instituting these policies and procedures would make the       group much more attractive and pleasant to newcomers.              2. If and when the group is able to attract a newcomer       that wants to stick around, every member of the group       should for at least the first month compliment any good       or great or superlative anagram of that Newbie. Then       after that first month if the Newbie is still posting       any anagrams that are not good or great or superior,       every member of the group should for at least an       additional month point out those inferior anagrams to       the Newbie and explain why they are inferior AND       show a better variation or style or whatever the       issue is.              Instituting these policies and procedures would       certainly be best for both the Newbie and the group,       for a better experience had by all.              3. After these first two months for the Newbie, if       the Newbie is still posting more than a few inferior       anagrams, at least the group would know that they       gave a reasonable amount of kindness attention and       time to the Newbie and so they are not at fault at       all, and then it would be best to just ignore the       Newbie - do not add to their threads, do not       mention them on other threads, then in time they       might either stop posting or else finally improve.              Instituting these policies and procedures would       definitely be best for both the group and the Newbie.              AS IT WAS, since none of these sane civil loving       policies and procedures were in place before I started       and since I started, not only has my group experience       been in many ways and at many times unpleasant, but       there has not been a single newcomer to the group in       more than four years, and there is no telling how       long it had been before there had been a newcomer       before newcomer I came on board!              Plus, let's keep in mind that there were major problems       at the group before I ever appeared in it, such that       the best people who used to be at the group started       their own website anagrammy because they got tired of       dealing with the people at the group who would not       follow the rules!!!!              Yes! That is what I say! Let's get some sane civil       loving RULES - the above POLICIES and PROCEDURES -       established for this group, rather than let it       keep running wild with purely competitive arrogant       criminal creeps!              Amen!              Debra Dee Freeman       A.A REDEEMER?
