   In early 2008 I was in a library and discovered the   
   book "Urantia: The Great Cult Mystery" by Martin Gardner.   
   After reading the book I sent the following letter to him   
   and I received the following reply from him. We communicated   
   both by snailmail and by telephone during the years 2008,   
   2009, 2010, the last communication being in April 2010, and   
   he then passed-away on May 22 2010. He also had sent me the   
   latest edition of said book with his autograph to me.

   Dear Martin Gardner:   
      
   I hope this reaches you, and that you are able to and will   
   respond. I have enclosed sase for your greater convenience.   
      
   An individual has mentioned "The Urantia Book" to me   
   several times over the years, and recently I decided to   
   look into same. I went to the library to do so, and also   
   found your book "Urantia: The Great Cult Mystery", and   
   also "Edgar Cayce and the Urantia Book" by John M. Bunker.   
      
   About your book, I have several comments and questions:   
      
   o You state that your wife encouraged you not to write the   
   book. Thank you so much that you did not listen to her.   
   I got so much out of this book you would not believe it.   
   Not only did I laugh many times - which humor I had not   
   been expecting - but your book makes me feel certain that   
   Wilfred Custer Kellogg was the "contactee" rather than   
   Edgar Cayce - which mystery resolution and fact mean a lot   
   to me. In addition, all the details and various people were   
   interesting, and I especially enjoyed your "Dr. Matrix"   
   sections.   
      
   o I would like to know: Did you ever follow-up, or catch-   
   word, regarding Mr. Sherman's package-opening in (2000?)?   
   You mention that he left a package at some library to be   
   opened in 2000 or so. I am very interested to hear the   
   result, though I assume Wilfred Custer Kellogg would still   
   be the "contactee".   
      
   o You might be surprised to see the following anagrams that

   LUCIFER-STEW? KELLOGG + DR. ...   
      
   These of course confirm that Wilfred Custer Kellogg was the   
   "contactee", AND that it was Lucifer himself who panned   
   himself off as various other angels. You see, channeled   
   materials all contradict The Holy Bible, and are indeed   
   Lucifer's attempts to draw people away from The Holy Bible.   
   Both The Holy Bible and The Cayce Readings are very firm   
   in their warnings regarding channeling/mediumship/necromancy.   
   Alas many people ignore these warnings.   
      
   o You might be surprised to see the following anagrams that

   Amazing! These not only describe William Samuel Sadler's   
   activities, but the group he created as well - the "ALL"!

   Yes, Wilfred Custer Kellogg actually channeled Lucifer.   
   Yet even Dr. Sadler did not harken to the warnings in his

   These are all quite amazing considering Dr. Sadler's long-time   
   avocation of searching out, studying, analyzing, mediums, and   
   his then vocation of selling Wilfred Custer Kellogg's product.   
      
   o You mentioned unsuccessfully trying to obtain "666" from   
   "533 W. Diversey Parkway, Chicago, Illinois". I found several:   
      
   A. 5 x 3 = 15 = 6 (multiply first and second digits)   
      3 + 3 =  6 = 6 (add second and third digits)   
      8 + 7 = 15 = 6 (add letter total of Diversey and Parkway)   
      
   B. 555 = 15 = 6   
     +333   
     +333   
     ----   
      666             > 6 x 4 = 24 = 6   
      
   C. 533 + 4 (W E S T) = 15 = 6   
      8 (D I V E R S E Y) + 7 (P A R K W A Y) = 15 = 6   
      7 (C H I C A G O) + 8 (I L L I N O I S) = 15 = 6   
      
   All these triple-sixes certainly add to your theme that Lucifer   
   is behind "The Urantia Book". Interesting, too, that in Tarot   
   number 15/6 is Devil!   
      
   o Is it just coincidence that the "discarnates" called themselves   
   "celestials" and that Dr. Sadler's wife Dr. Lena's middle name   
   was "Celestia" - containing all the letters that spell   
   "celestials" - and that she was "the first to be convinced that   
   Wilfred's channeling was genuine"?   
      
   o Is it just coincidence that the name HAROLD SHERMAN contains   
   all the letters to spell MR. DR. SADLER AND MRS. DR. LENA SADLER,   
   and that he ended up figuring so prominently in their lives?   
      
   o Could you send me a list of all the books you have written?   
   Do they all have humor like your "Urantia" one? If they do,   
   I would like to get around to reading them all.   
      
   o One last question: Apparently at least one of your books   
   mentions Edgar Cayce. Is this mention PRO or CON? If CON, did   
   you REALLY research the matter [Update Note: He told me that he   
   never read a single printed Reading nor did he ever attend a live   
   Reading - alas the answer is NO]? Edgar Cayce was verified by   
   numerous doctors and other professionals of his day. No one who   
   tried to "debunk" him ever did or could - including Harry Houdini   
   and Dr. Sadler himself. One of Edgar Cayce's biographies was   
   written by one of these former skeptics - a New York Times   
   award-winning journalist Jess Stearn. All of Edgar Cayce's   
   Readings are available to the public in binders in the A.R.E.'s   
   library and on-line to members. The organization has received   
   accolades from various media, the mayor or Virginia Beach, more -   
   it is more than 75 years old now. Edgar Cayce had a genuine gift   
   called somnambulism and others had it before him. He was able   
   to read the Akashic Record - no channeling was involved. The   
   Holy Bible calls it "God's book of rememberance" - and the   
   individual records or books are mentioned in Daniel 7 and   
   Revelation 20 and will be utilized at these first and second   
   judgments (1. Day Jesus returns; 2. End of millennium). All   
   thoughts, words, deeds, events, facts, are recorded on "the   
   skeins of space and time". Carnal narrow-minded persons would   
   never be willing to believe such a possibility and reality.   
   But spiritual broad-minded persons find truth and help in   
   The Cayce Readings, which confirm and parallel and advocate   
   The Holy Bible by the way.
