   The better books are those of Holy Writ, for ANY demonstration of   
   spiritual laws (412-9).   
      
   ...there comes little that is better in the experience of man than the   
   Scripture, not merely as the spiritual but as a light to the feet, as direction   
   to the eye (1260-1).   
      
   ...for the general development in the mental attributes of the spiritual   
   forces, nothing better than the Psalms, John (especially Chapters 14, 15,   
   16, 17) and the letters of John - and James (275-30).

   The activities should be in that direction pertaining to training, education,   
   application in self to lessons, causes, and purposes and whys. For search ye   
   the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life. For they are they   
   which testify of those ideals and purposes of the Creative Force manifested   
   in [Jesus], who is the way, the truth, and the light (3655-1).   
      
   And add to same much of that as may be gained, at such periods, from the   
   study of the Word of Life, the Book, the Bible; meditating on those   
   commands, those promises, those warnings. They are the words of life; and   
   life, here, means that continuation of a consciousness, and the study of the   
   relationships of self to the Creative Forces or God (1664-2).   
      
   ...the Scriptures also. Read...and you will find them not as historical   
   happenings or events but as the expression of the experience of an individual   
   entity, a soul - as self - seeking to know the greater, the better, the more   
   helpful relationships to Creative Forces. And we will find the outlook upon   
   life,   
   the activities in its relationships, its associations, will become quite a   
   different   
   experience [1173-8].   
      
   For regular periods, let there be so much study of man's relationship to   
   Creative Forces, or the reading of the Book, the Bible, and the promises   
   especially made in that book. Let the body hunt for same, as well as   
   telling him where and how to look, and what is a promise, and that all   
   promises are provisional, and that there may be application of this in   
   the body-force itself (3259-2).

   But study to know thy relationship to thy Creator. No better handbook   
   may be used than the Scripture itself (1966-1).   
      
   Hence we may find again and again here, in the Word, that which IS the   
   connection between man and his Maker; that finds its final concept in the   
   manner which John presents to the elect [i.e. The Revelation] [281-4].

   'To love the Lord with all thy heart, thy mind, thy body, and thy neighbor   
   as thyself!' This is the whole will of the Father to His children. The rest of   
   that recorded in Holy Writ...is merely the attempt to explain, to analyze,   
   to justify, or to meet that saying, that truth; which must, which will, become   
   a consciousness, an awareness, in the experience of those who seek to do   
   His will in the earth (2524-3).   
      
   There have been many versions of that which was purported to have been   
   written, and has been changed from all of those versions - but remember   
   that the whole gospel of Jesus Christ is: 'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God   
   with all thy mind, thy heart, and thy body; and thy neighbor as thyself.'   
   Do this and thou shalt have eternal life. The rest of the book is trying to   
   describe that. It is the same in any language, in any version (2072-14).

   Study also astrological subjects, not as termed by some, but rather in the   
   light of that which may be gained through a study of His word [The Holy   
   Bible] (5124-1).

   For in the study of these [Scriptures] ye will find that ye draw unto that   
   force from which the writers of same gained their strength, their patience

   written into the meanings that would suit their own purposes, as ye   
   yourselves often do. But if ye will get the spirit of that written there ye   
   may find it will lead thee to the gates of heaven. For, it tells of God, of   
   your   
   home, of His dealings with His people in many environs, in many lands

   Let these be the thoughts and the activities: Nothing better may be followed   
   than that as has been given by Moses, Joshua, David, the prophets, and   
   Jesus (949-5).   
      
   Study not what others have said, but...what John has given as respecting
