From: dfreemans@live.com              C O N T I N U E D F R O M P R E V I O U S P O S T                            ADDENDUM ONE               "Soul" And "Spirit"               Both the Bible and the Readings say that there is both a "soul" and        a "spirit". What meaneth these?               As the following two Reading excerpts clearly explain or delineate,        the "soul" is the individual consciousness portion + the individual        will portion, and the "spirit" is the universal spirit portion, of        each triune etheric being or entity, which being or entity was brought        into being in the beginning by God, which being or entity each of        us are. The spirit portion, being a portion of the previously existing       eternal lifeforce itself, is eternal. The consciousness portion +        the will portion were brought into being by God, or created, and did        not previously exist, and are amenable to destruction or non-existence        if separated from the spirit portion, as can happen in The Lake Of Fire       With Brimstone:              Edgar Cayce Reading 364-10       What, then, IS psychic force? What IS occult science? A developing        of the abilities within each individual...that there may be brought        INTO being that which gives more knowledge of the source FROM        which the entity ESSENCE (Isn't a good word, but signifies that        intended to be expressed; not elements, not rudiments, but ESSENCE        of the entity itself, ITS spirit and soul - its spirit being its portion        of the Creator, its soul that of its entity itself, making itself individual,        separate entity, that may be one WITH the Creative Force from which        it comes - or which it is! of which it is made up, in its atomic forces,        or in its very essence itself!) emanates; and the more this may be        manifest, the greater becomes the occult force.               Edgar Cayce Reading 5749-3       Q) Explain the law of the line of demarcation between soul and spirit.        (A) This is one, yet distinct - even as the Father, the Son, the Holy        Spirit is one, yet is the manifestation of a force that is capable of        manifestation in the varied planes of development. The soul is an        individual, individuality, that may grow to be one with, or separate        from, the whole. The spirit is the impelling influence of infinity, or the        one creative source, force, that is manifest. Hence we find that in the        physical plane we seek soul manifestation as the spirit moves same in        activity.               The "NONMEDICAL RESOURCE GLOSSARY" which is available at the        edgarcayce.org website and which is 1. linked at and 2. integrated       into the "Edgar Cayce Readings" option and section [Note: 1. Click on        "Edgar Cayce Readings", then click on "Help", then click on "User Guide",        then click on "Nonmedical Glossary" at the bottom of the page, OR        click on "Resource", then click on "Glossary" under the heading        "Nonmedical"; and 2. Click on any nonmedical word that is colored blue        or purple and is underlined in the text of any Reading] contains the       following definitions for "Soul" and "Spirit":               SOUL        Soul refers to that eternal aspect of our being that is our spiritual        heritage. Cayce sometimes used the term “entity” when discussing        the totality of the soul.               SPIRIT        Spirit is the life force or divine energy that animates and is the        source of vitality of an individual (as in “spirit is the life”).                I do not know who wrote these definitions, but as can be easily seen       just by the two Reading excerpts above, neither of them is correct, and       neither of them is even specific enough or concrete enough to even        know what they are saying in an actual practical reality-wise sense.        Worse of all, by giving two different words and two different definitions,       the suggestion seems to be that "soul" and "spirit" are two distinct       things or features, yet both definitions basically say the same thing -       that "soul" is eternal and that "spirit" is eternal, and thus the anti-Bible        anti-Reading false impression is given that each of us is eternal, shall        exist forever, no ifs ands or buts.               These definitions, per the information in the Readings and the Bible -       and that means both of these in their entirety - should be changed to,       or something such as:               SOUL       Each of us is a triune etheric being composed of 1. Individual        Consciousness, 2. Individual Will, 3. Universal Spirit. The "soul" is       the individual consciousness portion + the individual will portion.       As to continuation of the soul, depends on if it remains attached to,       rather than becomes separated from, the universal spirit portion.       [Note: Sometimes the Readings refer to all three portions together -       or in other words the entire being or entity - as "soul", and        sometimes the Readings refer to the spirit portion as "soul", so one        needs to be careful as to which is meant in any particular instance.]               SPIRIT       Each of us is a triune etheric being composed of 1. Individual       Consciousness, 2. Individual Will, 3. Universal Spirit. The "spirit"       is the universal spirit portion. As to continuation of the spirit,       it shall always exist, but if it becomes separated from the soul -        or the individual consciousness portion + the individual will portion -       then it shall return to or be subsumed back into the spirit God who       lent it. [Note: Sometimes the Readings refer to all three portions       together - or in other words the entire being or entity - as "spirit",       and sometimes the Readings refer to the soul - or in other words        the individual consciousness portion + the individual will portion -       as "spirit", so one needs to be careful as to which is meant in any        particular instance.]                       HERE ARE SOME Reading excerpts which form the basis of this ADDENDUM       regarding "Soul" and "Spirit", in addition to all of the foregoing material:               Edgar Cayce Reading 1567-2       In the beginning, when there was the creating, or the calling of individual       entities into being, we were made to be the companions with the Father-God.               Edgar Cayce Reading 2830-2       For, the Creative Force made or brought into being SOULS to be equal with,        and one with, Him; even as is manifested in the Way, the Truth, the Light.               Edgar Cayce Reading 262-115       Then why, as has been said, is God mindful of an individual soul? SPIRIT!       For our spirit, that is a portion of His Spirit.               Edgar Cayce Reading 2448-2       Know that there is only one Spirit, and that thou possessest thy measure of        same. Thy WILL is given thee to use or abuse that Spirit. For, the Spirit is        of the Creator, and thy body is the temple of that Spirit manifested in the               [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
