[continued from previous message]              which mention the word "sin"! But in some cases a sin is absolute - for        example, the Readings say that to know to do good and to do it not is sin.        So there is no getting around that one. But in some other cases sin is        relative to the individual. However, as a philosophy relativism says that       there are no absolute sins, and this is the philosophy therefore embraced       by the ones that you mentioned who want to live by "anything goes - and       do not judge me". Yet this is a false philosophy. Many things are absolute       sins.              My favorite absolute comment in the Readings is: "For when ye have set a       vibration by the activity of thy SOUL'S force, ye are then either in parallel,       in direct accord, or in opposition, to constructive force [281-30-12]."               The false preachers have done much harm too, and their coming was        prophesied in Jude 1:4: "For certain men have falsely entered among you,       and these were foreordained from the very beginning to this condemnation;        they are ungodly men, turning the grace of God into lasciviousness, and        denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ" and in Acts 20:29-30:        "For I know this, that after I have departed fierce wolves will attack you,        which will not spare the flock. Also from among yourselves men shall arise        speaking perverse things to draw away disciples after them." This is namely        those who have preached that all one has to do is to say the Sinner's Prayer        and then one is saved, and works do not matter, and this salvation cannot        be lost no matter how frequent or terrible the sins of omission or commission       [the resultant expression has become "Once saved, always saved"]. Yet       Jesus said, "He who has patience to the end shall be saved [see Matthew        24]". [Note: This means patiently doing God's will, good works: see Hebrews        10:36 for example: "Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you        will continue to do God's will. Then you will receive all that he has        promised," and see Romans 2:7 for another example: "To them who by patient        continuance in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will        give eternal life."] And when Jesus was asked point-blank what must be        done to be saved, he replied in sum, "Follow the ten commandments,        especially the latter six [see Matthew 19]". And Jesus also said that        whoever observes and teaches the ten commandments shall be regarded as        great in the kingdom of God [see Matthew 5]. To preach that law is dead is        an absolute lie. 2 Peter 3:17 warns: "You therefore, my beloved, seeing        that you know these things beforehand, beware, lest you follow the error of        the lawless."               Debra Dee Freeman                     **********                     August 22 2015              J.R. replied:              Debra's research is amazing; I can't add anymore from a biblical perspective        but Cayce's take (see Biblical study notes per the member section) may be        helpful:               "1 st Verse. God brings into being His first begotten son, the first one to        whom He gives a physical body and gives him dominion over the earth, a        privilege denied the thought forms. Thus that Evil One, that spirit which had        rebelled against God in spirit, could only become active through God‟s        physical man AS that physical man allowed him to become active. Thus we        find man constantly beset by the necessity of making a choice between good        and evil. To make the proper choice, there must be cooperation with God. "                So, evil is a reality (a choice), not an illusion.               JR                      **********                     August 23 2015              Debra replied:              Hello Again J.R.:               How are you and your loved ones? Healthy and happy, I hope.       How are things? Good, I hope.              Where exactly did you get that quote from? I agree it is a very       good quote. But I tried a bit to find it at the website, using the        upper-right search-field, and I did not find it.              What I did find was an A.R.E. blog article posted 6/15/12        regarding a new A.R.E. Press book titled "Edgar Cayce's Story       of the Bible" which contains all three of the former bible-related       books by Robert J. Krajenke, and the original forward written for        them by Gladys Davis, and a link to go to ARECatalog.com to        "sneak-a-peak at its table of contents and sample chapter".               So I clicked on the latter and was disgusted to find the following       statement at the end of the description written (by who?) for       this book: "According to Edgar Cayce, the Bible is a sourcebook       for spiritual development that applies to every facet of our lives.       Beginning with the story of Genesis and the creation of souls       and culminating with the promises of Jesus and The Revelation,       you will discover the powerful plan that has been in place since       the Beginning - a plan set in motion to restore humanity's fallen       consciousness to its true heritage as spiritual beings." Ha! Ha! Ha!       Most souls have not fallen - their consciousnesses have fallen, and       need help getting back up! Ha! Ha! Ha! Like the elderly lady in the       Life Alert commercial who has fallen on the floor and then presses a        button and yells, "Help! I've fallen on the floor and I can't get back       up!" And so apparently when the Readings say over and over again        that in the beginning SOULS FELL by making choices out of alignment        with God's will, and that then God brought the material universe and        earth into being as a school for these FALLEN SOULS to hopefully        learn obedience to God's will by the things which they suffer, and       that what The Holy Bible is is an instruction manual for right living        in regards to one's words and deeds, and that one should heed the        warnings in the Bible, and that one should know that all of its        promises are provisional, and a zillion other statements that have        nothing to do with people's consciousnesses needing help getting        back up but rather people deciding to apply their will to serving God        rather than Satan Self Sin in their desires thoughts words deeds -        ALL OF THESE STATEMENTS AND MORE WERE AND ARE JUST A        LONG-WINDED PACK OF LIES ! ! ! ! AND EVEN THOUGH SATAN        HIMSELF KNOWS ALL THE ACTUAL FACTS AND STILL PREFERS TO        SERVE SELF AND SIN RATHER THAN GOD, THIS OF COURSE DOES        NOT APPLY TO ANY HUMAN BEING, ANY HUMAN SOUL. WHY, IF ALL        THE FALLEN SOULS COULD JUST GET IT INTO THEIR THICK HEADS        THAT THEY ARE PERFECT SPIRITS THAT SHALL LIVE FOREVER        THEN - POOF - JUST BECAUSE OF THAT THEY WILL ALL START TO        SAY AND DO WHAT GOD WOULD HAVE THEM SAY AND DO - OR,        WAIT A MINUTE, IT DOES NOT EVEN MATTER WHAT THEY SAY AND        DO - THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS THEIR CONSCIOUSNESSES       "BEING RESTORED TO THEIR TRUE HERITAGE" - WHATEVER THE        HECK THAT ALL MEANS. Yet here is what THE READINGS SAY in regards        to heritage: "In the present, use those abilities in the opposite       direction....        not in that as may separate self from that which is the dearest heritage        for each soul - to be a manifestation of GOD'S PURPOSE [DDF: i.e.        versus Satan's, Self's, Sin's, purpose]! For ye ARE as gods. LIVE [DDF        emphasis] like that, then, in thy daily experience (Reading 2583-1)."        Does it say here that the dearest heritage for each soul is to have a        certain consciousness? NOWHERE! So could having a certain        consciousness really be what the more than 1,000-page Holy Bible       is all about? NO! How the heck many times do the Readings have       to say that APPLICATION - APPLICATION - APPLICATION is what it       is all about ? ? ? ? You decide to choose to desire what God would       have you desire, and to think what God would have you think, and              [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
