   to say what God would have you say, and to do what God would   
   have you do, all day long, every day, in every area of life, and    
   THEREBY you grow spiritually and gain a spiritual consciousness    
   and come to know God and to be in accord with Him ! ! ! ! NO    
   OTHER WAY, AND NO SHORT-CUTS ! ! ! ! And WHY are those four    
   things SO IMPORTANT, especially the latter two - what you say and    
   what you do? BECAUSE THOSE THINGS EFFECT OTHERS - BECAUSE    
   OF THE EFFECT ON OTHERS ! ! ! ! THE GOAL IS TO BE OF GODLY    
   BENEFIT TO OTHERS AND SELF - NOT THE NARCISSISTIC GOAL OF    
   SELF HAVING A CERTAIN CONSCIOUSNESS ! ! ! ! And here is    
   probably the best synopsis regarding the Bible found in the    
   Readings, and which not only of course agrees with everything    
   that I have just said but also describes what I have just done:    
   "For this is the problem, that ye keep the law and present same    
   as holy to those who seek (Reading 5747-3)." One can have all   
   the finest thoughts in the world and all the greatest beliefs in the   
   world and all the neatest consciousnesses in the world - yet if one    
   is not saying and doing what God would have them say and do    
   then all their thoughts and beliefs and consciousnesses are not   
   doing others or themself a single speck of good ! ! ! !   
        
   Speaking of living forever, yesterday I read part of the Fall 2015   
   Venture Inward Newsletter - the "Questions and Answers" box   
   on page 3, which asks: "Did Edgar say what happens after we    
   have finished our many lives? Where do we end up?" And the   
   answer given is: "Here are two excerpts from A Search for God,   
   Book 2 with answers to your questions.   
      
   From Lesson 12, Spirit:   
   As we were created for companionship with the Father, being   
   a portion of First Cause...We must fulfill the purpose for which   
   we came into the earth plane, that is, to be again one with the   
   Father, which is attained through the Christ Consciousness.    
   Therefore, through the power of the Christ, who has walked the   
   path from the beginning, we will come to know ourselves to be   
   ourselves, yet one with, and part of, the whole, yet not the Whole.   
   That is the purpose, that is the cause, of being.   
      
   From Lesson 7, Destiny of the Soul:   
   Our soul is everlasting, containing eternal creative power, and    
   through expressions of this power we may come to know    
   ourselves to be one with Him. Then the destiny of the soul,    
   as of all creation, is to become one with the Creator."   
      
   DO YOU SEE ANY ANSWER TO EITHER QUESTION IN EITHER OF   
   THESE SUPPOSED ANSWERS? I don't. And being one with, or   
   in accord with, God, by applying self's will to doing God's will, is    
   something that each soul is to do NOW. It is not something to do    
   later, and it is not a place to go to or a place to be:   
      
   Edgar Cayce Reading 900-16   
   In the life, then, of Jesus, we find the oneness made manifest    
   through the ability to overcome all of the temptations of the flesh,    
   and the desires of same, through making the WILL ONE WITH THE    
   FATHER. For as we find, oft did He give to those about Him those    
   injunctions, "Those who have seen me have seen the Father," and    
   through the same channel [DDF: making the WILL ONE WITH THE   
   FATHER], may reach that perfection [DDF: oneness with, accord with,   
   the Father, here, now, in the flesh as a human].   
       
   Edgar Cayce Reading 826-11   
   What then is the purpose of the entity's activity in the consciousness   
   of mind, matter, spirit, in the present? That it, the entity, may KNOW   
   itself to BE itself and part of the Whole; not the Whole but one WITH   
   the whole; and thus retaining its individuality, knowing itself to be   
   itself yet one with the purposes of the First Cause that called it,    
   the entity, into BEING, into the awareness, into the consciousness    
   of itself. That is the purpose, that is the cause of BEING.

   The will of the entity is that gift of the Creator, or that portion which   
   makes it an entity, an individual; with the ability to know itself to BE   
   itself yet one with that desired - whether knowledge or truth or good,   
   or bad or evil or what! For there is ever set before each soul and body   
   and spirit - or mind and body and soul - good and evil, life and death;   
   will being that factor, the choice, the birthright to every individual....   
   which in the application makes for developments or retardments.

   But to man has been given the ability to know himself to be himself,   
   and yet one with the Creative Force. By what? Through what? The

   hath given thee the OPPORTUNITY to use that mind, that body, in

   For, each soul is a portion of the whole, or as a corpuscle in the body   
   of God. Thus do ye rule - in THY sphere of activity - those forces that   
   are about thee. Whether these are positive or negative, in that brought   
   to thy own consciousness, depends upon the use or application of thy   
   WILL, thy birthright that is given to each soul, that it may be equal to,   
   one with, that creative source; knowing itself to be itself, and yet one   
   with that Creative Force or God.

   for that manner through which the soul, the pattern of the Creative    
   Force, might make itself equal with God; not robbing Him of power,   
   might, or love, but manifesting the same in the dealings with the

   souls might know themselves to be themselves and yet one with   
   that Creative Force - God.   
      
   Edgar Cayce Reading 2519-8   
   There are urges from both astrological and material sojourns, yet know   
   that no urge - arising latently or manifestedly - or arising from the    
   emotions of the physical nature or from the latent visions or dreams -   
   ever exceeds the will of the individual entity. For the will is the gift of   
   the Creative Forces, or God, that makes each soul an individual entity,   
   capable of knowing itself to be itself yet one with, or separate from,   
   the purposes of the Creative Forces, or God.

   It is true, then, that there are latent and manifested urges, manifested   
   abilities, manifested virtues, manifested faults, in the experience of each   
   entity. These faults, these virtues, may be pointed out, yet the usage,   
   the application of same, is of free will - that which is the universal gift

   be itself and yet one with the universal cause.
