   J E S U S    A N D    T H E    S W O R D   
      
      
      
   There are many bible verses that associate Jesus   
   with a sword:   
      
      
   MATTHEW 10   
   Think not that I am come to send peace on earth:   
   I came not to send peace, but a sword.   
      
   REVELATION 1   
   And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth   
   went a sharp two-edged sword.   
      
   REVELATION 2   
   These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges.   
      
   REVELATION 2   
   Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against   
   them with the sword of my mouth.   
      
   REVELATION 19   
   And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite   
   the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth   
   the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God [i.e. kills them].   
      
   REVELATION 19   
   And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse,   
   which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with   
   their flesh.   
      
      
      
   QUESTION:   
      
   WHAT IS THIS SWORD PROCEEDING OUT OF THE MOUTH OF JESUS   
   WHICH HE CAST UPON THE EARTH AT HIS FIRST COMING,   
   AND WILL KILL THE WICKED SINNERS WITH OR DUE TO   
   AT HIS SECOND COMING ??   
      
      
   EPHESIANS 6   
   ...the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.   
      
   HEBREWS 4   
   For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any   
   two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit.   
      
      
   ANSWER:   
      
   THAT SWORD IS   
   "THE WORD OF GOD" -   
      
   WHICH MEANS   
   THE HOLY BIBLE,   
      
   AND WHICH IN   
   THE HOLY BIBLE   
   ITSELF IS ALSO CALLED   
   "THE WORD OF TRUTH" AND   
   "THE TRUTH".   
      
   1 KINGS 17   
   And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a   
   man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth.   
      
   PSALM 33   
   For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.   
      
   PSALM 119   
   And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth;   
   for I have hoped in thy judgments.   
      
   2 CORINTHIANS 4   
   But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty,   
   not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully;   
   but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's   
   conscience in the sight of God.   
      
   2 CORINTHIANS 6   
   By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of   
   righteousness on the right hand and on the left.   
      
   2 TIMOTHY 2   
   Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth   
   not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

   Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which   
   keepeth the truth may enter in.

   that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth   
   heareth my voice.

   But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth,   
   but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath.

   Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?

   And they shall turn away their ears from the truth,   
   and shall be turned unto fables.

   Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men,   
   that turn from the truth.

   For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of   
   the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.   
      
      
   P.S.   
      
   The only proper way to correctly interpret Scripture   
   is to apply the two rules of reading comprehension   
   which are context and comparison and allow Scripture   
   to interpret itself just as when reading any other   
   piece of writing as a book or article.
