   An OS's primary function is to help facilitate the execution of user's   
   choice programs. Much malware is executed due to bad choices, it's not   
   always about software vulnerability exploits. Even so, *nix isn't   
   immune to those either.

   Yes, as I understand it, it was designed for e-mail vector malware   
   specifically and attempts to cover those well while the same malware   
   arriving via some other vectors might be detected just as well in an   
   overlap condition.
