     Having been born and raised in North Dakota, yet another barren wasteland   
   except for a few communities of sheepish inbreeders, I cannot help but take   
   exception with your tone.  Having been born here with more intelligence than   
   many (go ahead, bash me for that, like I've got a sub-120 IQ-I'm not quite a   
   genius, but it's a fact, at least in this country), I learned not to accept   
   every opinion I was handed at face value, and to look at empirical evidence   
   from as unbiased of sources as I can locate before carefully making up my own   
   opinions.  That leads, often, to a bit of isolation in the upper midwest and   
   heartland, and often friction with powers that be, at least until one realizes   
   that locking that shit up inside is the only way to survive amongst the locals.   
     I apologize if I took your sentiment wrong, but I could not help but view   
   that as a 'MURRIKUH! Yew doan lyke it yew can GYIDAWHT!' viewpoint, which I can   
   safely say I get plenty of, in this ignorant swath of the country.
