   We need to recruit more homosexuals.  In San Francisco there used to be 17   
   gay bars on Polk Street and about 20 in the South of Market area.  Today   
   there are just 5  South of Market and only 2 along Polk Street.  SF's gay   
   entertainment (bars, restaurants, and bathhouses) venues have gone from   
   about 150 back in the 1980s to less than 40 now.  Venues that used to get   
   boatloads of gay men no longer get them, so they turn "straight".  Obviously   
   there is a lack of gay men and thus it's necessary to recruit more.
