   Not true. 'Verified by Visa' has *lower* transaction fees as an   
   incentive for merchants to use the program. And lower fraud liabilities   
   for the merchant too.   
      
   Incidentally, 'Visa' don't deal with any merchants of customers. Visa   
   and Mastercard are Corporations who handle agreements between Banks to   
   process transfers on credit. The consumers credit card is provided and   
   handled by a consumer bank they took a credit agreement with. The   
   merchant deals with a merchant bank who acts as their credit acquirer.   
   Visa and Mastercard manage the agreements between these banks as to how   
   the credit/debit cards should work.

   I'd suggest that if you're running an e-commerce business, then it's   
   your responsibility to understand how it works.

   Again, see above, 'Visa' offer big incentives to merchants to use their   
   verification systems.

   Um... To be honest, your reply shows you've done zero investigation as   
   to how e-commerce and credit-cards/debit-cards work. So you've come of   
   as a bit of a tit who just wants to be contrary and hear your own voice   
   spouting off about something you know zip about. There is available   
   information about how Visa works from the merchant side, and I suggest   
   you read it.
