XPost: alt.tv.cartoon-network       From: someone@microsoft.com              Big O is an amazing anime. I thought it would be best to start out like       that.              Anyways, as many of you may well know, the problem with modern-day animes       (as well as movies, T.V. shows, and books for that matter) is that they are       too predictable. In Big O, we are introduced into a world where everyone       has lost their memories. This device has been used incessantly lately in       all sorts of different fictional works. So what sets Big O apart, and more       importantly, what does this have to do with the ending?              Big O was created to make you go crazy. Just when you may think you've put       all the clues together, Roger reminds you of an important detail you forgot.       Big O is the most unpredictable anime out there and isn't afraid to get       itself tied up with one storyline (this is shown best in the last episode       when Roger's informant, after 26 long episodes, is finally revealed to be an       android).              The show makes many references to theater (example: "act" rather than       "episode") which is ironic in the fact that Big O is a play. Just a play.       It's a play with 20 different foci and never settles on one. Big O isn't       about giant robots, sensual androids, ancient government conpiracies, or a       digital world ruled by a hot chick. It's about Roger Smith, the negociator.              Will Big O have a third season? Maybe. It could definitely become a cult       again and try to end some of the confusing plot points. If not, just       remember Roger as he said, "The best stories are those with no end."              Oh crap. He never said that.              "Ancientone" |
