   Yamato is the granddaddy of classic anime space opera.  Unfortunately, it's   
   ageing like poorly. The first time I saw it in the late 70s I'd have given   
   it 5 stars. It's not that Yamato is bad, it's just that it's been done so   
   many times since and often done better.  If you want to see where anime came   
   from then definitely rent it; just make sure too use the 2 channel sound   
   track.
