|    Dating a Samsonite Cosmetics Case    |
|    07 Jun 04 22:02:52    |
From: quiltshophopper@yahoo.com              Hello,       I found a cream colored, marbled little boxy Samsonite cosmetics luggage       thing at a thrift store. I spent the day scrubbing it clean and found 2       keys inside! I found others that look like it on ebay, but without any idea       as to a date of birth. It's not one of the plastic ones, but the older kind       with two vertical gold colored lock snaps, and a key lock in the middle. I       bought it because I can't find any luggage I like at the mall, and this       piece looked like it been used since before the Big War, and was still       smiling. Ya can't find many things that old, that are still smiling with       original teeth, if you know what I mean.       Any idea what years Samsonite made these? I am so pleased with it. It is       really nice now that I have all the crud off it. It has the original inside       label, and a metal emblem on the outside with the original owner's initials       on it. (Must be old because nobody puts initials on luggage any more) If       you can't estimate a birthdate, can you direct me to someone who could? I       wrote to Samsonite, but I don't expect a reply on such an insignificant       request.              Thanks,              Cyndi              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
