     That gives a solid volume of  ~12,321 cubic miles.   
     If you try your graphite ... the entire world now uses about   
   3 *cubic miles* of oil (a source of the Carbon) per year and   
   we probably just passed peak oil in the last two years. It   
   will now rapidly decline in availability ....  and it's not all   
   Carbon anyway (plus has other valuable uses).   
      
     Where would you get the Carbon from & how?   
     BTW, Carbon in it's Diamond form might work ... do the   
   math & see, I did not. Graphite fibers will not as we know.   
     Then all you have to do is make a single diamond 100 miles   
   by 11.1 miles square & hollow it out without crackng anything.   
     Plus finding a place to put it that will not sink thru the planet's   
   crust .
