It's a poem based on a dream I had in 1982, as the poem states at the
   beginning.

Do it does have a dreamlike atmosphere but nothing predatory in it.

Two people meet at a party and talk, kids and have a bit of foreplay, then the
   dream and the poem ends

   No, that wasn't intentional.

The poem did speed the action up for brevity, there was talking and kissing
involved,. leading up to that moment.

Remember, it's also a poem about a dream, not real life.

Gay or straight, it would be a similar situation, except if gay, the speaker
in the poem probably wouldn't have become romantically involved with a female.

I wouldn't call it molestation but rather a poem that, granted, depicts a
crudely described but of "romantic foreplay."
