XPost: alt.astrology, can.politics, alt.satanism       XPost: alt.internet.commerce       From: dds@sdsu.edu              The Brooklyn man said he was conned into paying for a time       machine, a reincarnation portal and a golden bridge to trap a       spirit.              A lovelorn New Yorker was allegedly fleeced out of more than       $718,000 (£470,000) over 20 months by a fortune teller.              The 32-year-old marketing executive went to the psychic for       spiritual advice about his unrequited love for a woman.              The Brooklyn man said he was duped into paying for a time       machine, a reincarnation portal and a bridge of gold to trap an       evil spirit.              Bob Nygaard, the private investigator who handled the case, told       Sky News: "This victim was going through a difficult time in his       life.              "This self-proclaimed psychic preyed upon his vulnerability."              Priscilla Kelly Delmaro, 26, who operated from a Times Square       storefront, is accused of grand larceny, the New York Times       reports.              According to the man's written statement to Mr Nygaard,       submitted to police, he first visited the psychic in August 2013.              Delmaro allegedly convinced him ill spirits were keeping him       from his love interest.              He initially paid her $2,500 and then $9,000 after a second       visit.              Delmaro allegedly told the man she needed diamonds to safeguard       his energy.              The mystic also convinced him she needed $56,000 to rid him of       an evil spirit, says Mr Nygaard.              He paid another $40,000 for a fake funeral ritual to deceive the       spirit into thinking the man was dead.              Delmaro then persuaded the man to buy her a $30,000 Rolex, which       she would use as a time machine to cleanse his past.              He said he also paid $80,000 for Delmaro to lure the spirit over       a golden bridge so it would become trapped in another realm.              The fortune teller then told him she needed $90,000 for a       second, longer bridge for Michelle's spirit, according to his       written statement.              Delmaro promised to return most of the money once her work was       done, but Mr Nygaard said she did not do so.              In February 2014, the man learned from Facebook that Michelle       had died, possibly of a drug overdose.              It is alleged that Delmaro said evil spirits had killed her, but       she would reincarnate Michelle in another woman.              The man said he paid more than $40,000 for a ring from Tiffany's       and gave it to Delmaro.              She allegedly said she would keep the jewellery until he would       one day use it as an engagement ring for the reincarnated       Michelle.              The man said he ended up selling his car, losing his apartment       and borrowing thousands of dollars from friends and relatives in       the case.              Delmaro allegedly told the man the new Michelle was in Los       Angeles and he must move there to find her.              The psychic later told him a woman he met in California was the       new Michelle.              He said in his written statement: "This caused me to start       thinking that Delmaro wasn't everything she was purporting to       be."              Delmaro and her companion, Bobby Evans, 27, were arrested on 26       May in a Manhattan steakhouse, Mr Nygaard said.              http://news.sky.com/story/1497493/lovelorn-dupe-paid-718000-to-       fortune-teller              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
