   The easiest lie to sell to people is to tell them this:  "You were   
   born superior to those people, and nothing you can do will lower   
   you down to their level, and nothing they can do will raise them up   
   to yours."   
      
   People want to feel pride.  They'll love you and vote for you if   
   you give them a rationale for a feeling of pride that they don't   
   have to earn.   
      
   I'm reminded of this quote attributed to LBJ: "I'll tell you what's   
   at the bottom of it. If you can convince the lowest white man he's   
   better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his   
   pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his
