XPost: alt.global-warming, sci.skeptic       From: jtem01@gmail.com              On 2/12/26 2:45 PM, Vincent Maycock wrote:              > It's hotter than it would be without fossil fuel consumption.              And yet IT'S COLDER RIGHT NOW than when Neanderthals ruled all       of Europe into Asia, during the previous interglacial. It's       rouchly 2C colder, sea level is about 16 feet LOWER right now!              It's colder than during the Roman Warm Period or the Medieval       Warm Period.              A FAIR and an HONEST comparison, a SCIENTIFIC comparison would       yield the opinion that the warming since the end of The Little       Ice age has been SLOWED by our use of fossil fuels. And this       actually is what should have been predicted.              Pollutions, particles -- "Particulates" -- block sunlight. They're       minuscule, blocking only the tiniest portion but when you're       pumping out MEGATONS it adds up. Quick.              Sulfur is the real problem though. Are you old enough to remember       when "Acid Rain" was an issue? That's from the sulfur in our       fossil fuels, especially coal. The sulfur doesn't block the sun's       rays. Oh no, it's much worse! The sulfur converts to an aerosol       and bounces energy from the sun right back out into space!              Yes we in the west, AND THE UNITED STATES MORE SO THAN EUROPE,       went on an anti-sulfur rampage. Visit ANY gas station in the       United States and read the labels around the diesel fuel pump:              LOW SULFUR FUEL!              Now these properties of fossil fuels, these CLIMATE COOLING       properties of fossil fuels, especially coal, precisely mimic       the CLIMATE COOLING PROPERTIES of volcanoes. The only difference       is that volcanoes make all our automobiles COMBINED look like a       mouse fart...              Google: Volcanic Winter              Even small to medium volcanoes have a big impact on our climate,       and the biggest of all -- literally "Super Volcanoes" -- can       plunge us into a full scale ice age overnight.              Yes, the entire planet can be thrown into a "Volcanic Winter,"       virtually instantly, by a big Super Volcano.              There's *Way* too many Super Volcanoes active RIGHT! NOW!              *Way* too many for comfort.              If you're an American then the one nearest to you is probably       the Yellowstone caldera.              That one is holding back the conservatively estimated energy       equivalent to roughly 100,000 nuclear warheads... detonating       all at once, or maybe over a few weeks.              Like it matters.              So volcanoes cool the planet. In fact, "Glacial Maximum"       during our last glacial period, the so called "Ice Age,"       was the result of a Super Volcanic eruption.              The eruption that supposedly finished off the Neanderthals, over       40k years ago, is said to have stopped nearly all pollen       production in Europe for a year. Which means, winter lasted for       an entire year!              Far BIGGER than that eruption was Toba, about maybe 74,000 years       ago. That one nearly ended our species. It nearly ended the       genus Homo: Neanderthals, Red Deer People, Erectus, Denisovans...              And anyone else I missed.              Toba nearly wiped out all of us.              IT! WAS! MASSIVE!              And it's active. Right now. As I type, Toba is active.              So keep wetting your bed over GWOBULL WARBLING when you were       already overdue to be buried under an ice sheet THOUSANDS of       years ago, and (not at all coincidentally) we are overdue for       a VEI8 "Super Volcano" erupting, and there's maybe a half dozen,       maybe less, maybe more active RIGHT! NOW!              Yeah, one hour in Bill Gates' private jet used more fuel than       a Toyota Camry does in an entire years... but punish us "Bottom"       80 to 90% of the people for the choices of the rich and powerful       anyway.              And, oh: Fuck you.              You're not worth the loss of science. You're not.                                                  That       > doesn't mean it's warmer than it's ever been, because like I've said       > before, and you pretended you didn't notice, that CO2 in the air is       > not the only factor affecting global temperatures.       >       > From what you stupidly snipped:       >       > https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_change#/media/File:Globa       _Temperature_And_Forces_With_Fahrenheit.svg       >       >> that human industry has made it artificially (abnormally) hot.       >       > If it isn't humans, what is it that caused stratospheric cooling to go       > along with the surface average temperature increases?       >       >> So that REQUIRES a comparison to pre industrial periods,       >       > That's what I said.
