   Except that's a faulty idea (which is why the typical management morons   
   cling to it).   
      
   The original fans who are "against the new show" won't be watching it so   
   you've already cut your potential audience in half (taking a statistically   
   inaccurate 50% for and 50% against) because they liked the way the original   
   was - that's why they are called "fans". You're also pushing away people who   
   were not fans of the original by re-using the same name for a very show.   
      
   Whereas, if they actually created a new franchise with a new name, etc.,   
   then everyone would at least give it a chance.
