Given that this NG is loosely part of the family of science fiction
newsgroups, my modest proposal to the global warming community is to get the
trek-geeks involved. They like to point out the similiarities between
cellphones and the communicators used by the Enterprise's landing party, for
starters. So if they were to get to work on a real-life version of
   "Starfleet"'s weather-control network, as a private-sector venture, they
could create jobs while taking the wind out of hurricanes, all with much
less of that ugly political posturing. At least using Trek Logic. :o)
