   They don't have to.  All they need is to believe that developing a sci-fi   
   gizmo that can put the kabosh on a Category-5 hurricane will get them dates   
   with hot grateful women in the Gulf cities.  Which suits me fine, because I   
   don't really care what causes climate change... an orbiting weather control   
   net would be cool in and of itself, and such a thing would also make the   
   political side of the argument a non-issue.  That's a big win-win-win.   
   Except for that percentage of the Gulf gals who don't like being pursued for   
   dates by heroic Trekkers.  :o)
